In The CSTR News ...
HAY
Bill Varney came through with a trailer load of hay for the ride this
year and our horses sure appreciated the excellent quality. Having a
trailer to store it in, was also a great advantage. All in all, we were
able to keep our hay cost down. The quality of the hay meant that all of it
was eaten, with no waste and keeping it dry meant that we did not have to
throw away wet and spoiled hay so we used less hay than in previous years.
SPRINGFIELD LAKE PROJECT, PERKINSVILLE VT
Everyone had a great time at the ride this year. Our Ride Managers
Butch Sinclair and Diana Leavitt and their able crew did a bang up job of
setting up and marking the trails. Jen Omasta's Entertainment
Committee did a fine job of filling our off time. We will never forget
the Pirate Regatta on the Black River !!
OPENINGS ON THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (CSTR BOD)
Bill Knott and Aileen Livingston have both tendered their resignations from
the CSTR BOD. Both Bill and Aileen have been valuable members of the Board
and have served us well for a good number of years. Aileen’s input will be
sorely missed. Bill will continue as a member of the BOD as immediate past
president for as long as Larry Marshall remains as President. We will
need to replace these two members. Under the CSTR By-Laws, it is the
responsibility of the BOD to offer the names of two members to replace an
outgoing BOD member. The voting ballot that you will receive by mail or
e-mail contains 4 names: Bill Bourgeault, Becca Varney, Gin Stanley and
Laura Delaney. All of these members have served CSTR in various capacities
and have much to offer the club. Please vote for two of these individuals.
The two with the highest vote count will be elected to the BOD. Write in
ballots are not allowed for this position.

A NOTE ON DEADLINES
Enforcing deadlines is an important part of a successful event. There is some confusion as to the deadlines we use and our commitment to them. In an effort to make things easier and still maintain order, we have instituted the following rules:
- Deadline for the August Ride has been extended to June 30th, and this deadline is final. Entries must be received by June 30, not postmarked on that date.
- The wait list has been eliminated and a limited number of new members will be admitted each year who will have an equal opportunity to attend the August ride
- The number of horse entries is capped at 100 per day and if this number is reached before the June 30 date, it will be enforced over the June 30th cut off.
